I live in an older condo building, with neighbors below me, and that seemed prudent. Westside Plumbing will be here in a couple of days to do some minor work on the building, which will require turning the water off to half the building.

In fact, they will also have to enter my unit to confirm their repair was successful. Rather than require the water to half the building be turned off a second time within a week, I wanted to use Westside to replace the sink shutoff valves (very,very simple, small, quick job...

15" per valve) when they were already here, and the building water was already off. I called and left very clear, specific, polite voicemails during their biz hours - at 4.45pm on Sat, and at 4.50p on Mon (their website says they're open till 5 on Sat, and 7pm/24hrs on Mondays.).

I also sent them a message on Saturday through their website. So...

as of 7:45pm Monday, no response of any kind. Zero.

Zip. Even though they will already be here Wed morning.

So, i did what anyone would do at this point, and hired someone else to come. So, -my neighbors will be unnecessarily inconvenienced TWICE instead of once.

-My HOA will have to arrange the water turnoff TWICE. -AND, my different plumber's price will surely reflect his travel time, which also would have been avoided if Westside did my tiny job while they're already here.

I don't know how they could possibly get 100% 5-star reviews on Yelp. Not even a single 4-star? Or even one 3-star? Wow! Amazing.

If it's really true. Then again, they only have 38 ratings, although they show 191 photos of jobs on their website !?!?! Seems pretty small, and pretty strange to me for a place that's been in business for a while and shows 191 pics of jobs.

Conclusion: They have been 100% UNresponsive to THREE attempts I made to talk with them. Remember,vthey are going to be in my building, AND MY UNIT, ANYWAY, for the building's job.

RESULT: 1. Frustration (Ya think???) 2.

More hassle for my building neighbors due to 2nd water shutoff in 1 week. No toilet.

No shower. No washing dishes.

TWICE. In a week.

3. Much higher costs to me, since my guy has to make a separate trip for me, and again turn off , then on, building water just for 30-40" job for me.

(Probably 4-5x as much total time I'll be charged for; and plumbers ain't cheap ) They get 1 star from me. Minus 5 stars if I had the option.

How would you react? Edwin was extremely communicative and accessible. I had a nasty clogged sink and he was in and out with great results really quickly.

Will definitely reach out to Westside for later needs and recommend to all my friends. Our drain was clogged and Edwin came over within hours of calling him.

he was courteous, professional, and fast. and most importantly, he unclogged our drain! I will be using Edwin for all my plumbing needs going forward, and I absolutely recommend him to anyone who needs work done.

A rainy day and both of our sump pumps failed. The back of our HOA complex was a foot deep in water, and counting.

The reservoir was full and the weight on the retaining wall isn't good, let alone the soon to be spilling over into the neighbors yard. We have a couple 4" pumps.

They move a lot of water a long ways. As soon as Westside rolled up, they went into crisis management.

They started pumping the water out. They went away for an hour, leaving the pump clearing our property.

We had another plumbing company come, for a second bid. He said "it's electrical" and said we'd have to replace the box and possibly the pumps.

Uh..... he did not look at anything.

Westside returned and pulled the grates off the reservoir. They said first thing is that there is a significant amount of leaves, sludge, and debris in there.

They cleaned the vaults and floats. Then, they installed a screen to catch the leaves.

Poof. The whole system works great now.

One day and a couple of great guys helping us out. They cost more than we thought it would be.

AND, I'll use them again. I trust them and they really did a good job.

Cannot say enough good things about Edwin. Was so thorough in checking and treating the 3 possible causes of my issue in the master bath.

Had to both go on the roof and under my crawl space just to pinpoint the issue. So nice, explained things thoroughly, fixed the issue and the price was more than fair.

Bennett Called Edwin at 4:30pm on a Saturday. He was on another job but said he'd swing by afterwards.

Quoted me a price of $285 to replace a leaking toilet valve. I said yes.

Two hours later, the valve was replaced, and he took an outdoor hose that was stuck off the fixture. Hard to find a good plumber.

Linds Allen . It took me a month to realize the sewer sump pump at the back of my property was not working.

Not knowing what lurked underground, I needed help fast. Edwin came to the rescue.

Other plumbers on Yelp indicated they had knowledge of sump pumps. But Edwin was clearly the most knowledgeable when we first talked.

It was well worth waiting until the next day when he was available. Edwin showed up exactly when he said (rare in a contractor), showed me what the issue was, explained what was required to fix it.

He also provided me with options to save some money. It turned out to be a big job.

The original sump pump was improperly installed 2' underground with the access pipes over the lid, making it impossible to open up the pump to see inside. Just to see inside took an hour, digging and cutting away the pipes.

The pump was filled with roots. After discussing my options, Edwin returned the next day with a new sump pump.

He recommended installing an alarm to prevent the same problem in the future. At first I opted out on the alarm to save money.

But later realized he was right; an alarm would help me maintain the new pump instead of replacing it every few years (a much larger expense). He also suggested installing a plate above the pump to avoid having to dig out the 2' of soil each time annual maintenance is done.

Edwin goes beyond what you'd expect - he's researched getting a plate made! Edwin is a gem: very thorough, helpful. He explains how everything works in an easy to understand way.

He even sent me photos when I was not on site. And he's clean! I didn't have to clean up after him.

It's assuring to find a contractor as honest, friendly and reliable as Edwin. I've started an "Edwin To-Do List".

So happy we found Edwin at West Side Plumbing! He's helped us out on many occasions, small medium and large jobs he's been fantastic! I have been having a serious drainage and backing up issue for the past few weeks in my backhouse where some tenants live. After some DIY attempts to fix it and no success, I went ahead and requested a quote right here on yelp.

Edwin was quick to respond and easy to talk to about the problem. He and his team then came over to assess the situation, and figured out that the main sewage line has some bad blockage.
