Review and analyze now for company Goettl Air Conditioning and Plumbing - Phoenix and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Updated 09/07: I updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars due to the following: On 09/04/2024, 2 technicians came on after their 1st technician failed to see me. The 2 technicians were friendly and presented me with a flashlight and a stuffed animal (their mascot).
After 2 hours on my roof, they said they could not find any issue with my AC. I explained to them the 1st AC company findings, and the Goettl techs asked me to adjust my AC.
I turned it down 10 degrees on cool and then converted it to heat setting and increased it to 10 degrees as requested. They spent another hour on my roof and came down to reassure me there is no issue with my AC.
I asked them if there are any parts I should be concerned about the AC failing, and they emphasized there were still no issues. Since they spent 3 hours outside, I didn't argue about the $89 service fee.
The technician said he would update my profile that there were no issues found. On 09/05/2024, I contacted Goettl to confirm the technician did add notes to the AC indicating I completed the yearly maintenance and no issues were found.
I asked for them to email me the report which they did, but they could not enclose the photos the technicians took. I also indicated to the rep that an individual named Michael replied to my review, and I also wanted to get the quote of the circuit board to compare costs and see if it did need a replacement, if Goettl would have still been cheaper (which it should because the parts would have been covered).
The rep could not provide me the quote and said someone would call me back. At around 430PM, Goettle called me and left me a VM but I missed their call and reached back out within 20 minutes.
The next rep said that person already left for the day and would call me back on 09/06/2024. I never received the call back as indicated from the rep.
However, the VM did have a number, so I'll reach out again. I am still suspicious as to why 1 company said there was an issue, and another company said there were no issues.
I am hoping Goettl was thorough and would have been honest in providing a replacement and not blatantly overlook anything in order to not honor their parts warranty. At this time, I left my AC as-is, and will get a 3rd opinion in a few months from a different company.
Due to the text limit for reviews, I had to shorten my original 09.03 review. Summary: 3 stars because of lack of follow through on original appointment, and inability of customer service in reaching back out as promised.
However, the 2 technicians that did show up spent ample time when they visited, so I again, hope they were thorough and knowledgeable. I would still not recommend either AC company.
From 09/03/2024: I scheduled an appointment on 08.29.2024 for A/C check up. I used AZ Comfort Pros initially who confirmed there was an issue with my A/C.
The AZ Comfort individual indicated I should contact Goettl because the AC may be under warranty. I contact Goettl who couldn't give me my warranty information by phone, even though they installed this unit in 11/2021, and escalated me to Eli who emailed me the information same day.
I confirmed I did have warranty on the parts and called back again to schedule an appointment for 9.3.2024 with a service window of 9am-1pm. I called 4 times, and each rep said the tech would still see me but were delayed with a prior job.
It was now 530PM (4 hours after their window) and Goettl calls me to say the tech arrived at my home and realized he didn't have a tall enough ladder to get up to the AC and had to reschedule me. I'm flabbergasted, this company installed my AC originally and somehow didn't relay the height of the home to their own technician? I asked for a discount for wasting my entire day.
The best they could offer me was a discount on the parts but because the parts were under warranty, it would not reduce the cost. I asked for a discount on the labor and it was indicated this was unlikely, and no credit on the service call they had to reschedule either.
Seemed interested at first. They were the first to text me, as soon as I made the request.
Once I gave the information, nothing. I called them the next day.
But their response was "oh did you still need help?" Save yourself from being ripped off and find a better company. They are full of lies and shady practices and will sell you a lemon and never stand by their products.
This is our 2nd unit with them and we will NEVER make that mistake again. This current unit they put a hole in our roof during install!! They found a leak (while it was still under warranty) but they didn't tell us until 2 years later and they are now trying to charge us $2000 for a repair that should be have been totally covered, if they had any scruples.
Also don't expect any "priority" even if you buy the annual service plan!! What a rip off! STAY AWAY!!! This company is over priced and has terrible customer service. Appointments are not timely and communication is poor.
The quality of the equipment provided is substandard and many repair techs lack expertise. They upsell and always look for additional ways to extract more cash.
Avoid them. UPDATE: I provided our phone number after Goettl responded.
They called a few days later. We called back, waited on hold for 10 minutes, and were told they'd call us back.
This was on Wednesday. Today is Friday.
No call. The AC broke *again* this morning.
For over two years now, the brand-new, expensive AC units I purchased--after being assured by your salesperson that they were superior to Trane--have repeatedly broken down. Your technicians have been inconsistent, changing their explanations for the issues, and even admitted, "That part that broke is a known problem, so we replaced it with the good one." I am currently sitting in a 90-degree room because the same unit you "fixed" has broken again, this time due to another "known issue." It has been two days since your team came out, and I was told the part is "on order." However, no one has followed up with me except for the person who answered the phone at the call center.
Goettl needs to contact me immediately. The sales guys were fantastic in every way! But the service guys they sent out trespassed in my closet and stole a pair of diamond studs from my master bedroom.
They left their dirty hand scuff marks on my closet door (which is not near the bathroom) and on my jewelry display, so I knew it was them. This company is trash and should be sued!!! I advise you set up hidden cameras in advance if you still choose to hire them.
Their prices are outrageous and border on absurd. They quoted me over $1,000 to replace a heat pump fan motor.
I called one of their competitors who did the job for under $500. UPDATED BELOW.
We were blatantly ripped off. We purchased all-new AC for our 2-zone house.
They presented us with three options (3 stars being the most expensive, one star the cheapest). Being the type of person that doesn't usually go cheapest or more expensive, I chose the 2nd option for which the estimate signed literally says "Single Stage Goettl High Efficiency Condensing Unit" (literal copy and paste) twice on the estimate .
I even asked at the time of sale what the difference was between one and two stars and the gent serving us mentioned that we'd receive higher efficiency units. I was working during install and didn't think right away to check things further....but later on I noticed that the efficiency sticker on both AC units were as low as was possible (a decimal or two above the lowest point).
I asked about it and was told that 'the efficiency is the combination of the condenser and the furnace in the attic". I hired a different company to inspect the furnace for our pre-summer checkup and they confirmed that the furnace has the same efficiency rating as the AC unit.
They also informed me that this is normal and you'd never see units of different ratings in the same install. I called back to complain but am getting no responses anymore (they called back while I was working, I returned the call but got no answer, etc).
Essentially they charged me for mid-tier but installed low-tier and appear to not have any intention of making this right. DO NOT USE.
UPDATE: this review led to that automated reply you see in other replies as well. They called me once while I was working.
I called back 3x since but they have not reached out since. This follows previous LIES from them about what qualifies as high-efficiency and many, many ignored calls and text messages.
I'm considering legal action. If anyone knows a good lawyer please let me know.
I came home after being away for a month and went to reset the schedule on my two manual thermostats, since my wifi thermostat had been adjusted by me prior to my arrival. The problem was neither manual thermostat would start cooling.
I called to ask whether I should program as A/C or HP and was told I would have to have a tech come out. Then I had to spend a few minutes telling them who I was and my system, which seems a waste of time since I'm on a service package and charged monthly.
The tech was supposed to arrive between 5-7 in the evening, but never showed nor was there any contact by Goettl saying he wasn't coming. I finally programed the system and hit upon the correct configuration.
I'm debating dropping the service contract, they are supposed to come in October for system check for heating during the winter, but they cancelled the spring checkup for A/C and never rescheduled. I purchased the $299 Sadie Club year membership which is supposed to keep my Air Conditioning and Plumbing stay trouble free.
The technician arrived on time to target my plumbing. He did a great job analyzing the issues.
One of the issues was the replacement of the sacrificial anode in my hot water heater. This is basically a $50 part that had eroded over time.
His original quote was to replace it for $500! Later, he "found" a $50 coupon and only charged me $450. This is perhaps the worst value that I have experienced from a A/C - Plumbing Company.
Basically, I had a $50 part replaced for $750. To be fair, I did receive a free, corroded, non-functioning, commemorative Goettl flashlight as well.
I'll use them this year, then I'm out. Just when I thought I would never have to deal with this company ever again ...
Two years later after purchasing and installing a brand new AC unit, and countless problems I had with the new unit, I now just learned from the City of Phoenix that a final inspection was never done and IS REQUIRED. At least Goettl pulled the required permit but doesn't follow through the process with a final inspection with the City.
Goettl says they should have followed up with me about that. Would have been nice to know that two years ago.
At least Goettl is consistently horrible. lol Unethical.
They quoted me one highly inflated price and then offered to do the work for less outside of the company by paying the technician directly. When I declined, they still demanded I pay the $85 trip charge.
Afterwards, I contacted a competitor (a much smaller company) and they did the same work for 1/2 of their price. I would never trust these guys.
I purchased a new AC unit from this company less than 2 years ago right out the gate I had problems which they did make right where the installation fell through my hall closet and my bathroom and did not fix it until I complained now I have had to have them out multiple times no one has fixed the issue the unit is too young to be having all these problems I cannot seem to get any answers Dont call dont use. Call anyone else.
Literally anyone else. The techs reek of BO, they overcharge for the smallest thing.
When they casue your thermostat to shoot flames they wont even install a new one. And when they replace the part from the explosion they dont even come back to check if what they did actually fixed the problem...
I repeat DO NOT USE GOETTL. They probably cant even use a flashlight.
PS: looking at the other reviews seems like situations like these are par for the course for this company. I guess I shouldve read the reviews and found out upfront what a scam these guys are.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! 3 months ago I purchased a whole new AC unit from GOETTL that cost over 16k! We didn't turn it on until 2 months later (June) & within the 1st month it's only been working the way it's suppose to work for 2 weeks! How is a brand new AC already broken? Called for the first tech to come out (ri
