Great job Scott!! They came out for a recent service call and told me the compressor died. They told me I could buy a $500 one "that tends to go out and lasts maybe a year" or a $700 one that works great.
I'm sure this is an egregious price gouge but I don't want to look it up to maintain my sanity. The technician attempted to use scare tactics to pressure me into buying a more expensive compressor.
Why are you selling a product to customers that purportedly "tends to go out and break"? And that product is $500? Taking advantage of customers in this economy especially, disgusts me, and will be going elsewhere with my business next time. This is not a family owned business!!! This nightmare started June 9, 2023.
They were here to inspect and do maintenance on my ac unit. It was ok but had a part that was going bad.
On the 18th (Sunday) the unit was making a horrible metal scraping noise. I called the office number and the guy absolutely blew me off.
He also did not follow through with the office. After waiting all day Monday I called them.
Someone came out on Thursday 22nd. He explained what the problem was which had nothing to do with the part that was going bad.
He gave me a price for the fix and I opted to speak to the sales guy the same day. I chose to buy a new unit.
The sales guy said they could possibly do the install tomorrow which was Friday. He said he would let me know.
Friday noon there was a Crane in front of my house. The sales guy never followed through.
June 23rd the new unit was installed. Half a installation!!! They were here 8 times to correct issues.
They left a huge gap on the roof connection which was blowing cook's air into the universe. This was after the "quality control inspection?".
On December 3rd, I turned the heat on. It blew cold air.
This also after the "quality control inspection?". I do NOT recommend Hobaica services.
This is a joke of a company. This company deserves negative stars.
The Bountiful River Reed Wow! Such exemplary Customer Service from our Tech River Reed and the Field Manager Jared Jensen. They were on time- to the minute! River explained what my service visit would entail and gave me a timeframe which I appreciated.
After the service he provided me with photos and a detailed report on our unit- and what we might need to consider as our unit ages. Jared also informed me that me of the upcoming changes with Freon and how it might impact us in 2025.
Both young men are very communicative, informed, friendly and professional. After 12 plus years with a Service Plan with Hobaica I think this is the best visit ever.
I don't trust this company at all. Tech came out to do a maintenance check on my unit.
He said it was working fine but a day or so after he left, the unit starting to make this pinging sound really loud; it's never done this in the 6 years I have lived here. They scheduled the tech to come out between the hours from 12-4 and at 5 they called saying there weren't going to make it.
So, waited around half the day only to be blown off. Next day the guy comes out and gets on the roof to inspect.
During this time, I was out in the backyard. The guy was ringing the doorbell but never tried calling my phone.
According to their front desk, they will try calling or texting as well. He just got up and left, never to hear from him again.

They are extremely professional, prompt and experienced. They do my twice yearly a.c.
maintenance and I have bought 3 a c. Units from them.
They are always there when you are in need. Additionally, they've done plumbing for me several times.
A few days ago, Xavier serviced my a.c.. He was professional, polite, very willing to answer any questions and show us how to do fine tune a few things with our new inverter a.c.split system.
We appreciated his expertise. Thanks Hobaica! Simon came out today to help with our air flow issue.
He is awesome, diagnosing a problem two other companies couldn't help with. Very professional and crazy knowledgeable (a very good thing) about a/c in general.

"Bob" just serviced my AC. Up until this point most service companies I've used only attempted to charge me as much as they could for bad work and services I didn't need.
Bob behaves in such a way that you know he's honest, right at the outset. He made certain everything was good and gave me the best deal they had for the work.
It's so rare to find people you can trust to look out for you. When I say best service I mean out of ALL contractors, AC, pluming, appliance repair.

I received a flyer through the mail try it for a slow drain in the kitchen. The first guy they sent over was very nice, but very young and not experienced, after he left my drain was clogged with a terrible stench and black water in both sinks.
They sent over another guy who was very rude and said he didn't know what he would be able to do to unclog the sink because he had the same equipment as the first guy and the first guy was not able to unclog. He wouldn't be able to either.
I asked him to leave and called a friend of mine, they were able to repair it without any issues and without going through the roof. I called and asked to speak to a manager, but there was not one available and no one ever called back to apologize.
I would not recommend this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Binh Tran has been our service technician for years and has always provided excellent service.

Simon Peterson was the representative that reviewed our current systems (which Hobaica had been maintaining for years) and prepared several estimates covering a range of Lennox system designs and prices. Simon was very helpful in explaining these systems and helping us choose the best combination of comfort, efficiency and installed pricing.
The installation crew arrived right on time and was able to complete installation of 2 complete systems (outside condenser units, attic furnaces/coils, thermostats) in about 10 hours. They gave us a very helpful tutorial on using our new thermostats.
They were very courteous and even temporarily moved a few items off our walls to prevent them from being damaged as the old equipment was removed from our attic and new equipment was brought in. We are very happy with the new heating which is so quiet it's hard to tell if it's running, and fully expect to be equally happy with the air conditioners when we get to using them in the spring.
Best service ever! Conner came to our house to do a routine check on our HVAC and water heaters since we're a member - and have been for many, many years. As expected, he was fantastic.
He was courteous, patient, knowledgable and gave us a review of his inspection with a video. We feel so comfortable with Conner and Hobaica.

I recently had Samuel as my technician and once again, great service and problem-solved on my Lennox unit! I needed a new blower motor for my 14 yr old a/c unit. I've been using Hobaica for service and have only just started to not like them as much as I did at first.
They had quoted me a price of $1600. They were supposed to come out today for a scheduled appointment.
I got a phone call this morning saying the part was on back order for 4-6 weeks. Then the fellow seriously tried to convince me that the entire system needed to be replaced -- about $20,000.
I was able to find another company that replaced the motor today and charged me under $1000. I will never use Hobaica again.

We will need another visit to complete job. Correcting faulty work done by Nex lvl services that installed hot water heater, subcontracted by Lowe's They allowed sediment to settle in some areas of plumbing in house.
Mostly bathrooms and faucets. Justin is simply the most honest ethical hard working service person I've ever experienced.

It has been less than a month since the last repair. My heater is set at 74, running all night but can't get above 70 degrees.
It actually dropped to 69 degress after hitting 70 degrees... so we are going backward.
I just bought this NEW $10K unit in June 2022. So far Habaica has been out FOUR TIMES - twice to fix a noise issue - which required them to "loosen a bolt" then return to add a noise blanket - and my neighbors can still hear it when it turns off.
Then Habaica has had to come out TWO MORE TIMES to address it not heating - in early November and again in late November - the first month I even used the heater. This will be the FIFTH time I've had to call for service on this NEW unit in its first seven months on my house.
Each time I am tethered to my home for a 4 hour window unless I want to wait a few days in my cold house for an 8am time slot to open. This is unacceptable.

I received a call from the technician about 1 hour later who advised me he was booked solid and wouldn't be able to get to me until the following day. He stated someone would follow up to set a time with me for Monday.
I never received a call so I reached out Monday only to find out I was not scheduled and the earliest they have is now Wednesday. I went with another company that came out the same day, and will be installing a new system for me on Thursday.
My air conditioning stopped functioning on Monday (in July) at 5:00 PM. I called around looking for a repair service to get me up and running quickly.
I found Hobaica Services. On Tuesday Hobaica Services sent repair technician Binh T.
to diagnose and repair the issue. Binh showed up promptly and diagnosed why my system was not running.
He explained to me the options I had to repair my system. When Binh left on Tuesday he explained that Hobaica would need to order a part to complete the repair, he explained the problem and the cost.
Binh had the house cooling down before he left on Tuesday. On Wednesday Binh came with the needed part and repaired the system permanently.
Our experience was great with Binh and Hobaica, my wife and I are very satisfied with the response time, communication of breakage and fix strategy, and the final result. I enthusiastically recommend Binh and Hobaica.
Summary: My air conditioner would stop working from time to time for short periods of time. In July, a Hobaica tech came to my house and did an inspection and regular maintenance and said the unit was fine.
Three days later, the AC isn't working properly. I was forced to fix it myself because it was the weekend.
Hobaica did NOT address or fix the issue but in five minutes of research, I did. POOR SERVICE.
Details: On July 24, 2019, I had a Hobaica service technician come out to my house for a AC tuneup. The tech arrived on time and gave me a call when he was on his way.
When the Hobaica tech arrived, I told the tech my AC would sometimes stop blowing cold air and only blow warm air. The tech later inspects my AC unit and says everything looks and tested good.
Three days later on a Saturday, my AC is blowing hot air and the house heats up to over a 100F. My family and I plus our pets were forced to leave and went to a family member's house.
Long story short: I watched one Youtube video and learned it was likely a bad capacitor. The next day (Sunday), I went on the roof and visually inspected all four capacitors in my AC unit to find one of the capacitors had a noticeably bulge on the top and on the bottom.
I used a multi meter and tested the capacitor and verified it was bad. Mind you, it took about five minutes to do this.
I don't understand how a trained Hobaica technician missed this on July 24. I have no HVAC experience and after one YouTube video and five minutes of inspection, I was able to figure out the problem.
I was pretty upset because I had to uproot my family and spend time and money to fix something that a Hobaica technician failed to address or resolve. I do NOT recommend Hobaica.
I expected top notch, knowledgeable Hobaica HVAC service and technicians but they fell short. I understand you can't catch all issues with a AC.
But in this case, I pointed it out and they failed to address it. At the end of the day, it was a quick, basic fix which I fixed because they failed to do so.
Though I don't usually give 5 stars because no one believes a 5 star rating. Hobaica deserves 5 stars deserves it because they continue to hire great employees like Matt Sanzari.

He was able to fix my garbage disposal easily and provided very helpful tips to save money short and long term on a few plumbing services Ive been putting off. I was also glad to hear about the additional services for electric, which I wasn't aware of, and the service plans available too.
All in all it was a great third visit from Hobaica and I was incredibly impressed. Their technicians are on point, well trained, consistent, know their craft and value doing what's right for the customer.
