Aqua Science has been servicing our RO system and home water softener system for years. On this particular visit, the technician offered to service our hot water heater.
He said it would give it "an extra year of life". Maybe he should've stayed in his own lane.
Unbeknownst to us he did not know what he was doing, created a leak that shorted out the hot water heater and destroyed it. In the process, it leaked all over our brand new sheetrock, paint and baseboards in the garage - damaging the area beyond repair.
Just our luck, the leak was slow enough not to notice and we headed out of town for the weekend only to come home to water pooled on the (also brand new) garage floor. That's not the worst part.
The worst part is when we called for service to the hot water heater, it would be another 24 to 48 hours for a repair/replacement. And no offer to pay for any of the damage.
We're still waiting for the callback on the repair. We called a real plumber and took care of the hot water heater.
I guess we are out of luck on any other damage. How much do you want to bet that the repair men work on commission? I heard this nice local company was acquired by a big company and it all went downhill from there .
We've used Aqua Science for the last 13 years in two different houses and have nothing but good things to say. They've maintained and replaced R/O systems several times.
Always done it quickly for a fair price. No complaints here.
We previously use Pentair/Aqua Science for our home water conditioning system and heard that they offer high power misters. We decided to use them for backyard high power misters and we were completely surprised by how amazing everything turned out.
We got a free estimate/design that was great and installation only took half a day, and was reasonably priced. This is a commercial grade high power misters which is the same as what you would see at resorts or coffee shops.
I highly recommend this company if you want high power misters for your backyard for a hot summer day! Although it took a few days to get back to me so we couldn't not use our water, they sent two techs the next day after speaking with me and they were what I was used to....thorough, attentive, explained what they were doing and took their time to do it well. They even brought over new filters and completely started over with the service.
Customer services goes a long way so one worker should not ruin a company reputation. I am happy that they got back to me and remedied the situation.

Sales and installation experience was overall good. However, after sales support has been a problem.
We've been having a small issue with the system where water does not drain properly from the misting line and keeps plugging up one nozzle at the end of the line. I have replaced the same nozzle 5 times.
Aqua Science should have installed a drain valve at the end of the line. We called Aqua Science and spoke to Lisa R., a Customer Service Representative, she kept pushing their start up and shutdown service that we do not need.
Lisa was claiming that unless we use them to drain water from the system (something I'm perfectly capable of doing) in Fall and for opening the water spigot in Spring at the cost of $160 each time, Aqua Science will not provide the warranty. Lisa proceeded to insist that the AeroMist pump we have requires oil change (we had it for 10 months, used it about 30 hours) regardless of how many hours of runtime it had.
I have personally forwarded AeroMist pump manual and sent it to Lisa asking her to stop misinforming the customers. Per AeroMist, oil change is required once a year or every 500 run hours.
Lisa scheduled a service appointment to look into our issue, but scheduled it a month and a half from now. That is a half way through the season.
Apparently, you can't expect a timely warranty support from Aqua Science. Having such a poor after sales support, and this company holding their warranty as a carrot to make additional service sales, we will absolutely not use this company again.
As a mechanical engineer, I'm perfectly capable of performing basic system maintenance without being a constant source of revenue to Aqua Science. i had aqua science for 18 years.things have changed.a young man david came to set up our misters for the summer.
he flipped the swithes it worked. however not with the remote.they said the new remotes were about $400.
,i said my remote had been working.the young man said walk around the house and turn it it on.i am 87 years old difficult to walk. i said it has always been working,sorry .
i called pacific mist galen was able to come out .it is turned off , turned off to the remote,flipped the switch ,great mister are working .solution. have people that know what they are doing.
save money and time, Very happy with our misting system & continued servicing to keep it working perfectly! I got a call from Pentair (formerly known as Aqua Science). to schedule filter change on my 4/stage RO unit for 139.95 including membrane filter since I had my unit almost 6 years.
I accepted their service. Tech was on time he changed 3 of my filter he exam membrane filter he said no change needed.
i Asked to test filtered water with dts meter it was 92 Ppm. He said just flush the water twice it will drop below 10.
After a few days we tested RO water and reading was 25 Ppm. I called back asked them to replace the membrane now they are charging me $99 Just for membrane filter.
I said I have membrane filter just send tech to change I have not received any phone call. Buyers be aware of their not trust worthy of business conduct.
Do not let the technician leave unless the water reading in DTS meter is below 10 ppm. This is by far the worst service company I have ever dealt with! We were supposed to have regular bi-annual service on our RO system but when they call to schedule it, confirm the appointment by email, they don't show up.
I can live with a 4 hour window, take a half day off to wait for them, but when it turns into 5 or 6 hours I'm not happy. Then when I call to ask when they'll be here, twice now they say the appointment was cancelled or it was a scheduling snafu.
You just sent me an email confirmation yesterday!!! When this was Aqua Science I had issues too but really hoped, now that they're Pentair, things would improve. I know Pentair to be an excellent company but strongly recommend you not use this location of Aqua Science/Pentair for anything.
I'm the dummy for having given them so many chances. Had Aqua Science install a brand new water softener on 11/15/19.
On 01/13/22 noticed a leak in one of the pipes on top. Technician came out and said he could fix it, but it would probably only last a year.
Cost to replace the 3 pipe unit was $559.00! Needless to say I was not happy. The technician was able to get $100.
00 off. I will NEVER use aqua science/pentair water solution EVER again and will share my experience with neighbors and friends.

Speed I recently have my water softener replaced. The technician from Aqua Science was prompt, courteous and efficient Overall it was a great experience and great value.
I bought a reverse osmosis system less than a year ago. The water was already tasting funny about 10 months in.
We called for service and they set up a day for service and a time window. We waited all day and then at just before 5 they called and stated they could not make it and rescheduled for a day later.
The technician showed up, went to replace the filters and then stated he didn't have the correct filters. We wasted two days, don't have good tasting water, and to boot.
I received a bill for $278 for service. Well can't say I recommend this company, I'd use one of the other companies that pop up when this company is yelped.
By reading the comments this is SOP. Aqua Science purchased Pentair in Tucson where I bought my filtration system.
I called to see if they would honor the warranty I have. Not only did they say no but they told me they didn't even offer maintenance services.
When I asked what should I do, they told me to "call somebody else". That would be my advice to you.
I did contact Pentair and they sent me all the information I need to keep my system working well. We contracted with this company for our new pools solar/roof heating system.
The workers were nice and cleaned up after themselves. The problem is with the sightlines on the unit itself.
We have a flat patio cover with a pony wall looking top (sorry don't know correct term). We asked if the racks could be placed on the patio roof and hidden by that pony wall or skirt, which we were told would work.
That is NOT the case. I would've rather had it on the roof which aesthetically would've looked nicer and not paid the extra $$$ for what I did end up getting.
I have not gotten anyone out after the fact even though I've asked. Spent more than 7 weeks of waiting and spent more than $7K on a new pool heater, gas operated.
Today, tech came out and went over operating instructions, collected the other half of the $7K, and went on his way. Came inside, as the heater seemed to be operating.
However, every 4 minutes it shuts itself off, and the warning light comes on. Reset, and the same thing happens.
Then call, hours after tech leaves, they want you to call the 1-800 service repair number. That is BS! These people need to ensure equipment operates and take responsibility, particularly, when they got your monies Pentair's contract repair firm, Work Hard Pools, was responsive, came next day, efficient and effectively communicated and repaired the issues on our pool pump! Zero concern for customer service.
Attempted to double charge me for annual fee & refuses to return my calls. We did not have any work done by them the estimate process was so bad we called it off.
Items we requested to be included were not in fact in the estimate. Work to be done was not in the estimate.
It took several emails to and from the Regional Sales Manager to finally uncover enough "omissions" for us to call it off. I still do not know if we even uncovered all of the "omissions" or not.
We have been customers of PureTech/Aqua Science/Pentair for the better part of the last 18 years. They installed the water treatment system in our new home in 2003.
We briefly left the state in 2017. Last year I contacted them to see if they serviced units that they didn't install.
They do. Today we had a fine young man Kylan Asher service our system.
He was early, pleasant, personable, and knowledgeable. They have a winner with him.
Right after he left, I texted our daughter to reccomend Pentair, as she is looking to put in a treatment system. Some long time companies don't get better with time, Pentair gets better.

Two weeks ago we had them come out and change the filters in or reverse osmosis system. Shortly after the technician left, we discovered that the tubes were leaking.
We called them right away and they said that they would call as back to have the repair the leaks, but they never called back. I finally fixed the leak myself.
Today I called because the hot water heater that they installed was leaking. They broke the pan under the water hears, so the water was soaking in the drywall.
The person that I spoke with refused to tell me how the warranty process worked. They wanted to charge $75 to have their technician come up and diagnose.
Easy to see that the tank was rusted out, and needed to be replaced. The earliest that they could schedule an appointment was a week out.
I had to turn off and drain the water heater to keep the water from doing more damage and could not wait a week without hot water. I found a plumber who was able to do the warranty work tomorrow.
I will never use this business again, their service has really declined over the last 10 years.'''.
